Synopsis
Cells at Work! is a 2018 comedy anime about the human body, and this first season has 13 episodes. It was made by David Production and is based on the manga by Akane Shimizu. The whole story takes place inside a human body, which is shown as a huge busy city.

In this body, every cell is a person with a job. Red blood cells work like delivery workers. They carry oxygen and nutrients to every part of the body. White blood cells are like police officers, and they fight germs that try to invade. Platelets are small children who work together to fix wounds. There are many other cells too, each with its own special role.

The main character is a red blood cell called AE3803. She is new at her job, cheerful and hard working, but she has a very poor sense of direction. She often gets lost on the way to her deliveries.

Another main character is a white blood cell called U-1146. He is calm and kind, but he is also a fierce fighter who attacks bacteria without mercy. He often helps AE3803 when she gets into trouble.

Each episode deals with a real problem that can happen in the human body, like a scrape, a cold, a pollen allergy or food poisoning. The show explains what really happens inside our bodies in a simple and fun way. The series follows the cells as they work together every day to keep the body healthy.
