Synopsis
HAIKYU!! TO THE TOP is the 2020 fourth season of the high school volleyball anime. This first part has 13 episodes and was made by Production I.G, based on the manga by Haruichi Furudate. It picks up after the end of the third season.
Karasuno High School's volleyball team has won the Miyagi Prefecture tournament. Now they will go to the Spring National Championship in Tokyo, the biggest high school volleyball event in Japan. Before it starts, the players have a few months to get stronger.
Tobio Kageyama, the team's gifted setter, gets an invitation to the All-Japan Youth training camp. It is a camp for the best young players in the country. Kei Tsukishima, Karasuno's tall middle blocker, is invited to a training camp for top first year players in Miyagi.
Shoyo Hinata is not invited to either one. He is shocked and frustrated. He decides he will not be left behind, so he shows up at the Miyagi camp anyway, even though nobody asked him to come. The coaches do not let him play. Instead, he can only stay as a ball boy.
Hinata has to find a new way to learn. By watching the other players closely, he starts to see volleyball from a new angle. Meanwhile, Kageyama meets some of the strongest players in Japan. The season follows the Karasuno team as they train, grow and prepare for their first nationals.
