Synopsis
HAIKYU!! 3rd Season is the 2016 third season of the sports anime about high school volleyball. It has 10 episodes and was made by Production I.G, based on the manga by Haruichi Furudate. It picks up right after the end of the second season.
Karasuno High School's volleyball team was once strong, but in recent years people called them the "fallen crows". This year, the team has fought its way to the final of the Miyagi Prefecture spring tournament. The winner will go to the national championship in Tokyo.
Their opponent is Shiratorizawa Academy, the top team in Miyagi. Shiratorizawa has a powerful ace named Wakatoshi Ushijima. He is known as one of the three best spikers in all of Japan. He hits the ball with his left hand, which makes his spikes very hard to block or receive. Shiratorizawa focuses on pure strength, while Karasuno relies on speed and teamwork.
Shoyo Hinata is Karasuno's short but very fast middle blocker. Tobio Kageyama is the team's gifted setter. Together they can pull off a quick attack that surprises other teams. Other players also have big roles to play, like Kei Tsukishima, a tall and quiet blocker who usually does not show much passion.
The whole season covers this one long match, set by set. It follows the Karasuno players as they try to beat the strongest team in the prefecture and earn their place at nationals.
