Synopsis
Laid-Back Camp is a 2018 slice of life anime with 12 episodes. It was made by the studio C-Station and is based on the manga by Afro. It is set in Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan, near Mount Fuji, and it shows real lakes, campsites and towns in the area. The show is calm and cozy, with a lot of outdoor food.
Rin Shima is a quiet high school girl who loves to camp alone. She likes to go in the winter, when campsites are empty and peaceful. She rides her scooter or bike to the site, sets up her tent, reads a book and enjoys the view.
Nadeshiko Kagamihara is a cheerful and energetic girl who has just moved to Yamanashi. One day, she rides her bike to Lake Motosu to see Mount Fuji. She falls asleep there, and when she wakes up, it is dark and cold, and she is lost. Rin, who is camping nearby, helps her. The two share a warm bowl of noodles by the fire and watch Mount Fuji in the night.
After this, Nadeshiko falls in love with camping. At school, she joins the small Outdoor Activities Club with Chiaki Oogaki and Aoi Inuyama. Rin still likes to camp alone, but she slowly becomes friends with the club.
The show follows the girls as they plan trips, buy gear, cook simple meals and enjoy nature. It is a relaxing story about friendship and the fun of camping.
