Synopsis
Lucky☆Star is a 2007 comedy anime with 24 episodes. It was made by Kyoto Animation and is based on the four-panel comic by Kagami Yoshimizu. It is set in Saitama, Japan, and follows a group of high school girls in their everyday life. There is no big story. Most of the show is about small, funny conversations.
Konata Izumi is a short and lazy girl who loves anime, manga and video games. She stays up late playing online games and often copies her friends' homework. She is also very clever when she wants to be.
Her best friends are the Hiiragi twins. Kagami is serious and sharp, and she gets annoyed quickly, especially with Konata. Tsukasa, her twin sister, is sweet and gentle, and she is often confused. Their friend Miyuki Takara is a polite and very smart girl from a rich family, and she seems to know the answer to every question.
The four girls talk about all kinds of simple things. They argue about the right way to eat a chocolate cornet, share school stories and talk about games, food and holidays. Konata's love of otaku culture leads to many jokes and references to other anime.
At the end of each episode, there is a short segment called Lucky Channel, where two hosts make fun of each other. The show is a relaxed comedy about friendship and the funny side of daily life.
