My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! is a 2020 romantic comedy fantasy anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by Silver Link and is based on the light novel series by Satoru Yamaguchi. It is set in a European style fantasy kingdom with nobles, magic and a royal academy.

Catarina Claes is the eight-year-old daughter of a noble family. One day, she falls and hits her head. Suddenly, she remembers her past life. She was a normal Japanese high school girl who loved an otome game, a romance game for girls, called Fortune Lover. Then she realizes something terrible. She has been reborn as Catarina, the rude villainess of that game.

In Fortune Lover, Catarina always meets a bad end. If the heroine falls in love with any of the main boys, Catarina is either sent away forever or killed. Catarina is determined to avoid these doom flags.

She comes up with simple plans. She starts farming so she can live on her own if she is exiled. She trains with a sword so she can defend herself. She also tries to be kind to everyone around her. Without meaning to, her honest and cheerful attitude makes the people around her fall for her, including her fiancé Prince Geordo and her adopted brother Keith.

The show follows Catarina as she grows up, heads to the magic academy and meets the game's heroine, Maria.
