Synopsis
The Familiar of Zero is a 2006 fantasy romantic comedy anime, and this first season has 13 episodes. It was made by J.C.Staff and is based on the light novel series by Noboru Yamaguchi. It is set in Tristain, a magic kingdom that looks like old Europe. The show has some fan service.
Louise is a proud student at the Tristain Academy of Magic, a school for young nobles. She comes from a powerful family, but she is terrible at magic. Every spell she tries ends in an explosion, so her classmates call her Louise the Zero.
In her second year, every student must summon a familiar, a magic creature that serves its master. Louise's classmates summon dragons and other beasts. Louise summons Saito Hiraga, a normal teenage boy from modern Japan. Everyone laughs at her. To seal the contract, Louise has to kiss Saito, and a strange mark appears on his hand.
Louise treats Saito like a servant. He has to wash her clothes, sleep on the floor and follow her orders. Saito is angry and wants to find a way home. But he soon finds out that the mark on his hand gives him a special power. When he holds a weapon, he becomes a very skilled fighter.
Saito also meets other students and a kind maid named Siesta. The show follows Louise and Saito as they argue, fight enemies and slowly start to care for each other.
