Synopsis
Blue Box is a sports romance anime that aired from 2024 to 2025 with 25 episodes. It was made by Telecom Animation Film and is based on the manga by Kouji Miura. It is set at Eimei Academy, a private school in Japan that is famous for its strong sports clubs.
Taiki Inomata is a first-year student on the boys' badminton team. He trains hard every day, but he is not yet one of the best players. Every morning, he practices in the gym next to Chinatsu Kano, a second-year student who is a star on the girls' basketball team. Taiki has a secret crush on her, but he thinks she is far out of his reach.
One day, Taiki learns some big news. Chinatsu's parents are moving abroad for work, but she wants to stay in Japan to keep playing basketball. Because their mothers are old friends, Chinatsu comes to live at Taiki's house. The two now share a roof, and they must keep it a secret at school.
Living together helps them get closer, but Taiki is still too shy to confess. Instead, he makes a promise to himself. He will work hard to reach the national tournament in badminton, just as Chinatsu is aiming for nationals in basketball. His friend Hina, a lively girl on the rhythmic gymnastics team, cheers him on.
The show is a gentle and hopeful story about first love, sports and chasing your goals.
