Synopsis
Call of the Night is a 2022 romantic comedy anime with supernatural elements. This first season has 13 episodes and was made by LIDENFILMS. It is based on the manga by Kotoyama. It is set in a Japanese city at night, when most people are asleep.
Ko Yamori is a 14 year old middle school student. He has stopped going to school, because he no longer sees the point of it. He also has trouble sleeping. One night, he sneaks out of his house and walks through the empty streets.
During one of these night walks, Ko meets Nazuna Nanakusa, a strange young woman who is full of energy. She offers to let him stay at her place so he can finally get some sleep. Then Ko learns her secret. Nazuna is a vampire, and she wants to drink his blood.
Ko is not scared. In fact, he likes the idea of becoming a vampire and living in the night forever. Nazuna explains that there is a rule. A person can only become a vampire if they are bitten by a vampire they are in love with. Ko has never been in love, and he does not really know what it feels like.
So Ko decides to try to fall in love with Nazuna. Every night, they meet up and spend time together around the city. The season follows Ko and Nazuna as they explore the night, meet other vampires and slowly learn about each other.
