Synopsis
Date A Live II is the second season of the science fiction romantic comedy anime Date A Live. It aired in 2014 with 10 episodes and was made by Production IMS. It is based on the light novel series by Koushi Tachibana. The show has a lot of fan service, so it is best for older teens and adults.
The story is set in Tenguu City, a modern city in Japan. Spirits are powerful girls from another world. When they arrive on Earth, their power causes huge disasters called spacequakes. A military group called the AST wants to destroy them.
Shido Itsuka is a high school boy with a special ability. If he can make a spirit fall in love with him and then kiss her, her powers are sealed, and she can live a normal life. He works with Ratatoskr, a secret group led by his younger sister, Kotori, who guides him through each date.
At the start of this season, Shido goes on a school trip to a tropical island. There, he meets Kaguya and Yuzuru Yamai, twin spirits who have been competing with each other for a long time. They decide to turn Shido into the judge of their contest. Later, Shido faces Miku Izayoi, a famous idol who is also a spirit and who dislikes boys.
At the same time, a powerful company called DEM starts to hunt the spirits. The season mixes dating comedy with big battles.
