Synopsis
The God of High School is a 2020 action fantasy anime with 13 episodes. It was made by the studio MAPPA and is based on the Korean web comic by Yongje Park. It is set in modern South Korea.
The God of High School is a huge martial arts tournament for high school students from all over Korea. Anyone can enter, and they can use any fighting style or weapon they want. The winner is promised one wish, anything they want in the world. Tiny machines in the fighters' bodies track their health and help heal their wounds.
Jin Mori is a 17 year old martial artist from Seoul. He is cheerful and very strong. He learned to fight from his grandfather, and he enters the tournament because he wants to face strong opponents. On his way to the first match, he meets two other fighters. Yu Mira is a swordswoman who wants to save her family's sword style. Han Daewi is a karate fighter who wants to help a sick friend.
The three become friends as they move through the early rounds. But the tournament is not what it seems. The people who run it have their own secret goals. Some fighters can also use a power called Charyeok, which lets them borrow strength from gods and other beings.
The series follows Mori, Mira and Daewi as they fight in the tournament and start to learn the truth behind it.
