Synopsis
High School DxD is a 2012 supernatural action comedy anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by the studio TNK and is based on the light novels by Ichiei Ishibumi. It is set at Kuoh Academy, a high school in modern Japan. The show has a lot of adult fan service.
Issei Hyodo is a second year student at Kuoh Academy. He is not popular, and he thinks about girls far too much. One day, a cute girl named Yuuma asks him out, and Issei is overjoyed. But at the end of their date, Yuuma shows her true form. She is a fallen angel, and she attacks and kills him.
As Issei dies, he is found by Rias Gremory, the most popular girl in school. Rias is secretly a devil from a noble family. She brings Issei back to life, but as a devil. In return, he must now serve her as a member of her group.
Rias leads the Occult Research Club, whose members are all secretly devils. Among them are Akeno, Koneko and Kiba. Issei must learn how to live as a devil, which includes making deals with humans at night.
Issei also has a Sacred Gear, a special power hidden inside him that may be much stronger than it looks. In this world, angels, fallen angels and devils have been at war for a long time. The season follows Issei as he trains with the club and gets caught up in the conflict between these three groups.
