Himouto! Umaru-chan

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a 2015 comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by the studio Doga Kobo and is based on the manga by Sankaku Head. It is set in modern Japan, and it moves between a high school and a small apartment.

Umaru Doma is a high school girl who looks perfect in public. She is beautiful, gets top grades and is good at sports. Everyone at school admires her and thinks she is kind and elegant.

But at home, Umaru becomes someone else. As soon as she puts on her hamster hoodie, she turns into a lazy, spoiled little sister. She lies on the floor, plays video games all night, eats chips, drinks cola and reads manga. She also gets very demanding with her older brother, Taihei.

Taihei is a hard-working office worker who takes care of Umaru. He cooks, cleans and pays for everything. He often gets tired of her behavior, but he still loves her and tries to be patient.

At school, Umaru makes friends with other girls, such as the shy Nana Ebina, who comes from the countryside, and Sylphynford Tachibana, a rich girl who sees Umaru as her rival. None of them know about her lazy side. Umaru also has a secret identity at the game center, where she is a famous gamer.

The show is a light, easy comedy about family life and the gap between who we are in public and at home.
