Synopsis
Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! is a 2020 romantic comedy anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by the studio ENGI and is based on the manga by Take. It is set at a university and a small cafe in modern Japan. The show has some fan service.
Shinichi Sakurai is a second-year university student who likes to be alone. He is tall and quiet, and a little grumpy. He spends most of his free time by himself. He thinks being alone is the best way to live.
Hana Uzaki is a first-year student at the same university. She went to the same high school as Shinichi, and she remembers him well. Hana is short and loud, and she is full of energy. When she sees that Shinichi is always alone, she decides that he must be lonely. So she makes it her mission to hang out with him as much as possible, whether he likes it or not.
Hana follows him to lunch, to the movies and even to his part-time job at a quiet cafe. She loves to tease him and make fun of his lack of friends. Shinichi gets annoyed, but he also starts to enjoy her company. Ami Asai, the daughter of the cafe owner, watches them closely and is sure they are in love.
The show is a light comedy about two people who slowly become closer, even if neither of them wants to admit it.
