Synopsis
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is a 2023 romantic comedy anime with 13 episodes. It was made by the studio Madhouse and is based on the manga by Mashiro. It is set in modern Japan and inside the online game Forest of Savior.
Akane Kinoshita is a cheerful college student. She started playing an online fantasy game called Forest of Savior because her boyfriend liked it. Then her boyfriend dumps her for another girl he met in the game. Akane is heartbroken and angry.
Looking for someone to talk to, Akane complains to her guild mate in the game, a high level player named Yamada. He replies in a short and cold way, and he does not seem to care. Soon after, Akane goes to an offline event for players of the game, hoping to give her ex a piece of her mind.
At the event, she meets Akito Yamada in real life. He is a very handsome high school student and a professional gamer. Many girls are interested in him. But Yamada does not care about romance at all. He is quiet and blunt, and he only really cares about games.
Akane and Yamada start to spend more time together, both in the game and in real life. Slowly, Akane finds herself falling for him, even though he is hard to read. The series follows Akane as she moves on from her past relationship and tries to understand the strange and awkward Yamada.
