Synopsis
My Dress-Up Darling is a 2022 romantic comedy anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by the studio CloverWorks and is based on the manga by Shinichi Fukuda. It is set at a normal high school in Japan and in the homes and shops around it.

Wakana Gojo is a first year high school student. His grandfather makes hina dolls, the traditional Japanese dolls used in a spring festival for girls. Wakana loves the dolls and wants to become a master craftsman like his grandfather. But when he was a child, a friend told him that it was weird for a boy to like dolls. Since then, he keeps his hobby secret and has no friends at school.

Marin Kitagawa is in the same class. She is one of the most popular girls at school, with bright clothes and a loud, friendly way of talking. Nobody would guess that she loves anime and video games.

One day after school, Marin finds Wakana sewing doll clothes in the sewing room. Instead of laughing at him, she is amazed by his skill. Marin has always wanted to try cosplay, where fans dress up as their favorite characters. But she cannot sew at all.

She asks Wakana to make a costume for her. Wakana has never made clothes for a real person before, but he agrees to try. The series follows Wakana and Marin as they work on costumes together and become closer.
