Synopsis
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 is the second season of the romantic comedy anime My Dress-Up Darling. It aired in 2025 with 12 episodes and was made by CloverWorks. It is based on the manga by Shinichi Fukuda. The story is set in modern Japan and is about the world of cosplay.
Wakana Gojo is a quiet high school boy who makes clothes for traditional hina dolls. Marin Kitagawa is a popular, cheerful girl in his class who loves anime, games and cosplay. In the first season, Gojo started making cosplay costumes for Marin, and the two became close friends. Marin also has a crush on Gojo, but she has not told him.
This season starts in the fall. Marin wants to go to a Halloween party in Tokyo dressed as Arisha, a character from a show she loves. Gojo works hard on the outfit, but the design is very hard to make, and he must learn new sewing tricks to get it right.
Soon after, the two meet Amane Himeno at a cosplay event. Amane is a young man who cosplays as female characters, and he is very good at it. He shows Gojo new ways to make a costume look real, and he talks about why cosplay means so much to him.
The season follows Gojo and Marin as they take on new projects, meet other cosplayers and grow closer, one small step at a time. It has some fan service and a lot of warm comedy.
