Synopsis
The Quintessential Quintuplets 2 is the 2021 second season of the romantic comedy anime. It has 12 episodes and was made by Bibury Animation Studios, based on the manga by Negi Haruba. It picks up right after the end of the first season.
Futaro Uesugi is a smart but poor high school student. He works as a private tutor for the Nakano quintuplets, five sisters who look almost the same but have very different personalities. Their names are Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba and Itsuki. At first, most of them did not want his help, but they have slowly started to trust him.
The sisters' grades are still bad, and Futaro's job depends on their test results. He needs them all to pass their exams, or he could lose the job and the money his family needs.
At the same time, the feelings between Futaro and the sisters are becoming more complicated. Some of the sisters start to develop feelings for him, and they each deal with those feelings in their own way. This causes new problems and rivalries between the five of them.
The season opens with a flashback to a school trip to Kyoto years ago, where Futaro met a mysterious girl who changed his life. Then a crisis puts the tutoring job and the sisters' bond in danger. The show still reminds viewers that Futaro will one day marry one of the five. The season follows Futaro and the quintuplets as they face exams, family problems and their growing feelings.
