Synopsis
Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is a 2023 romantic comedy anime with 13 episodes. It was made by the studio Lay-duce and is based on the manga by Fumita Yanagida. It is set at a normal high school in modern Japan.
Tomo Aizawa is a tall and energetic high school girl. She trained in karate at her family's dojo, and she acts more like a boy than most boys do. She has been best friends with Junichiro Kubota since they were little. Jun is big and tough, and he is a bit slow to notice things.
Tomo has a problem. She is in love with Jun, but he still thinks of her as one of the guys. When she tells him she likes him, he takes it the wrong way and answers as a friend. Jun treats her like a buddy, wrestles with her and never thinks of her as a girl.
Tomo decides to change that. She tries to act more girly and get Jun to see her in a new way. The problem is, she is not very good at it. Her best friend, Misuzu Gundo, is cool and smart, with a sharp tongue. She often tricks or teases Tomo and Jun, but she also wants to help. Their friend Carol Olston is a sweet and silly girl who is not as simple as she seems.
The show follows Tomo as she tries again and again to make Jun see her as a girl.
