Synopsis
Kaguya-sama: Love is War is a 2019 romantic comedy anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by A-1 Pictures and is based on the manga by Aka Akasaka. It is set at Shuchiin Academy, an elite private school in Tokyo for the children of rich and powerful families.
Miyuki Shirogane is the student council president. He is the top student in the whole school, and he works very hard to stay there. Kaguya Shinomiya is the vice president. She comes from one of the richest families in Japan, and she is good at almost everything.
Everyone at school thinks they would make a perfect couple. In truth, they do like each other. The problem is that both of them are far too proud to say it. In their minds, the person who confesses first is the loser. So each one decides to make the other one confess instead.
Every day turns into a battle of clever plans. A simple thing, like going to a movie or sharing a lunch, becomes a game of tricks and mind games. Most of their plans fail in funny ways.
Chika Fujiwara, the student council secretary, is cheerful and a little airheaded. She often ruins their plans without knowing it. A narrator explains each small battle like it is a war.
The show is made of short stories in each episode. It follows Kaguya and Miyuki as they try to win at love without losing their pride.
