Synopsis
Tsuredure Children is a 2017 romantic comedy anime with 12 short episodes. It was made by Studio Gokumi and is based on the manga by Toshiya Wakabayashi. It is set at a normal Japanese high school, and it is about how hard it can be to say "I love you".
The show does not follow one main character. Instead, each episode has several short stories about different couples. Some students have feelings they cannot say out loud. Others have already confessed and do not know what to do next. The stories are separate, but the characters all go to the same school, so they sometimes cross paths.
In the first episode, a girl named Saki Kanda tries to confess to her classmate Haruhiko Takase, but she cannot get the words out. Yuki Minagawa confesses to Jun Furuya, and he does not know how to answer. Ayaka Kamine likes Takeru Goda, but he is so simple and honest that he does not notice her hints. Student council president Masafumi Akagi catches a rough girl, Ryoko Kaji, smoking at school, and he uses this to get close to her.
Most of the humor comes from shy students, bad timing and small misunderstandings. Each story is only a few minutes long. The show is light and sweet, with some sad moments too. It follows these young couples as they try to be honest about their feelings.
