Wise Man’s Grandchild

Wise Man's Grandchild is a 2019 fantasy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by Silver Link and is based on the light novel series by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka. It is an isekai story, where a person from our world is reborn in a world of magic.

A young office worker from Japan dies and is reborn as a baby in another world. The baby is found by Merlin Wolford, a famous hero known as the Wise Man. Merlin names him Shin and raises him in a quiet forest far from other people.

Shin still has memories of his old life. He uses what he knows about science to understand magic in a new way. With Merlin's training, he becomes extremely powerful. But because he grew up in the woods, he knows almost nothing about normal life.

When Shin turns 15, the king of Earlshide, an old friend of Merlin, suggests he go to the capital. There, Shin can attend the Earlshide Magic Academy and learn how the world works. On his first day in the city, he saves two girls, Sicily and Maria, from a group of thugs. He soon becomes close to Sicily.

At the academy, Shin's magic shocks the teachers and students. He makes friends with Prince August and others in his class. At the same time, reports say that dangerous demons are appearing more often. The show is a light story about an overpowered hero, with school life, romance and magic battles.
