The Misfit of Demon King Academy is a 2020 fantasy action anime, and this first season has 13 episodes. It was made by the studio SILVER LINK. and is based on the light novels by Shu.

Two thousand years ago, Anos Voldigoad was the Demon King of Tyranny, the strongest being in the world. He was tired of the endless war between demons, humans, spirits and gods. So he gave up his own life to build four great walls between the races and bring peace. Before he died, he promised to be reborn in the future.

Now Anos has come back to life. He enrolls at Demon King Academy, a school that trains the descendants of the Demon King. But in 2,000 years, a lot has changed. Magic is much weaker than it was in his time. People also remember the Demon King wrong, and they even say he had a different name.

The school measures its students by their bloodline and their power. Because the school's ideas are wrong, its tests rate Anos, the real Demon King, as a misfit. Anos is not bothered at all. He is calm and confident. He is also far stronger than anyone else.

On his first day, he becomes friends with Misha Necron, a quiet girl who is often ignored. The series follows Anos as he makes friends, beats every rival who looks down on him and starts to find out what happened to history.
