Synopsis
And you thought there is never a girl online? is a 2016 romantic comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by Project No.9 and is based on the light novel series by Kinmaru. It moves between a high school in modern Japan and an online fantasy game called Legendary Age. The show has some fan service.
Hideki Nishimura is a high school boy who loves online games. In Legendary Age, he plays a character named Rusian. Two years ago, he confessed his love to a girl character in the game. That player then told him that he was really a man. Since then, Hideki believes that there are no real girls in online games.
Then a cute healer named Ako in his guild asks to marry Rusian in the game. After some doubt, Hideki agrees. Soon, his guild decides to meet in real life. To Hideki's shock, all the other members are girls, and they all go to his school.
Ako is Ako Tamaki, a shy girl who has trouble telling the game apart from the real world. She truly believes she is Hideki's wife, even at school. The other guild members are Akane Segawa, a popular girl who hides her gaming hobby, and Kyo Goshoin, the rich and confident student council president.
To help Ako learn the difference between the game and real life, the group starts a school club for online gaming. The show follows them as they play, study and deal with Ako's strange ideas.
