Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki

Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki is a 2021 romantic comedy anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by Project No.9 and is based on the light novel series by Yuki Yaku. It is set at a high school in modern Japan.

Fumiya Tomozaki is a quiet high school boy with no friends. He is bad at talking to people, and he thinks real life is a bad game with unfair rules. But online, he is a legend. Under the name nanashi, he is the top player in Japan in a fighting game called Attack Families.

One day, Tomozaki agrees to meet the second-best player in Japan, who uses the name NO NAME. To his surprise, NO NAME is Aoi Hinami, the most popular girl at his school. She is beautiful and smart, and everyone likes her.

Hinami is shocked by Tomozaki's gloomy attitude. She tells him that life is the best game of all, and that anyone can improve with the right strategy. She offers to train him, just like a player levels up a character. Each day, she gives him small tasks, such as smiling more, talking to classmates and changing the way he stands.

Tomozaki slowly starts to make friends and talk to girls like Minami Nanami and Fuka Kikuchi. The show follows him as he treats his social life like a game he wants to master, and as he begins to wonder what he truly wants.
