Synopsis
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is a 2013 school comedy drama anime, and this first season has 13 episodes. It was made by the studio Brain's Base and is based on the light novels by Wataru Watari. It is set at a high school in Chiba, near Tokyo.
Hachiman Hikigaya is a second year high school student who has no friends and says he does not need any. He thinks that youth and friendship are lies that people tell themselves. He looks at everyone around him with a dark and sarcastic eye.
His teacher, Shizuka Hiratsuka, reads an essay he wrote about how he hates the idea of a happy school life. She is worried about him. As a punishment and a lesson, she forces him to join the Service Club.
The only other member of the club is Yukino Yukinoshita. She is the top student in their year and very pretty, but she is cold and speaks her mind without caring how it sounds. She is also a loner, though for different reasons. The club's job is to help students who come to them with problems. It does not solve the problems for them. Instead, it helps them learn to solve the problems on their own.
Their first client is Yui Yuigahama, a friendly and popular girl from Hachiman's class. She wants help baking cookies for someone. The series follows Hachiman, Yukino and Yui as they take on requests and deal with their own messy feelings.
