Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest is a 2019 fantasy action anime, and this first season has 13 episodes. It was made by White Fox and Asread and is based on the light novels by Ryo Shirakome. It is set in Tortus, a fantasy world of swords, magic and monsters.

Hajime Nagumo is a quiet high school student in Japan who likes anime and games. One day, he and his entire class are suddenly pulled into another world. The people there tell them that they have been summoned as heroes to save humanity.

Most of his classmates receive very strong powers. Hajime is different. His job is Synergist, a simple crafting class that is good for making things but bad for fighting. His classmates see him as the weakest in the group, and some of them bully him.

During a training trip into a deep dungeon, Hajime falls into the dark abyss below. His classmates think he is dead. Alone and badly hurt, Hajime has to fight to survive. Out of desperation, he eats monster meat. It nearly kills him, but it also makes him much stronger. Using his crafting skills, he builds powerful guns.

Hajime is no longer the kind boy he used to be. He becomes cold and focused only on survival. Deep in the dungeon, he meets Yue, a vampire girl who has been sealed away for 300 years. The series follows Hajime and Yue as they fight their way out and search for a way back to Japan.
