So I'm a Spider, So What?

So I'm a Spider, So What? is a 2021 fantasy action comedy anime with 24 episodes. It was made by the studio Millepensee and is based on the light novel series by Okina Baba. It is an isekai story, where people from our world are reborn in a fantasy world.

One day, a strange explosion hits a high school classroom in Japan. Everyone in the class dies. They are all reborn in a world of swords, magic and monsters, and the world works a bit like a video game, with levels and skills.

One girl from the class is not reborn as a human. She wakes up as a tiny spider monster in the Great Elroe Labyrinth, a huge and deadly dungeon. She is weak, and almost every other monster can kill her easily. To survive, she has to build webs, set traps, eat whatever she can and level up. She talks to herself all the time, and her cheerful and panicked thoughts drive much of the comedy.

At the same time, the show tells a second story. Some of her classmates have been reborn as humans. One of them, Shun, is now a young prince in a human kingdom. He grows up learning magic and swordplay, and he starts to meet other classmates who were also reborn.

The show switches between the spider's fight to survive and Shun's life among humans. Slowly, it hints that the two stories are connected in ways no one expects.
