Synopsis
Darwin's Game is a 2020 action thriller anime with 11 episodes. It was made by the studio Nexus and is based on the manga by FLIPFLOPs. It is set in modern Japan. The show has a lot of blood and killing, so it is only for adult viewers.
Kaname Sudo is a normal high school student. One day, a friend sends him an invite to a new mobile game called Darwin's Game. When Kaname opens the app, a snake seems to jump out of his phone and bites him on the neck. He soon learns that this is no normal game.
Darwin's Game is a real battle royale, where players fight to the death. Every player has a special power called a Sigil. Players earn points by beating others, and the loser dies. Once you start, you cannot quit.
Kaname's first match begins right away, against a masked killer. He does not know the rules and does not even know his own Sigil. He must survive and learn how the game works as fast as he can. Soon, he meets Shuka, a skilled and dangerous girl who is one of the top players in the game.
Kaname does not want to kill anyone. Instead, he wants to find the people behind the game and stop it. To do that, he starts to gather allies and form his own team. The show is full of fights, betrayals and hard choices about who to trust.
