Synopsis
Gleipnir is a 2020 supernatural action anime with 13 episodes. It was made by the studio Pine Jam and is based on the manga by Sun Takeda. It is set in a small town in modern Japan. The show has a lot of violence and some sexual content, so it is only for adult viewers.
Shuichi Kagaya is a quiet high school boy who wants to live a normal life. But he has a strange secret. He can turn into a large, dog-like creature that looks like a mascot costume, with a zipper on its back. He does not know why he has this power, and he keeps it hidden.
One night, a building catches fire, and Shuichi uses his power to save a girl who is trapped inside. The girl is Clair Aoki, a classmate from his school. Clair discovers his secret. She finds the zipper on his back and climbs inside him. When she does, the two of them join together, and Shuichi becomes much stronger.
Clair has her own reasons for being interested in him. She is looking for her older sister, Elena, who killed their family and then disappeared. Clair believes that people with powers like Shuichi's may lead her to the truth.
Soon, they learn that there are many others like Shuichi. Strange coins have been falling from the sky, and people who collect them gain powers or become monsters. The show follows Shuichi and Clair as they fight dangerous enemies and search for answers.
