Synopsis
Food Wars! The Fourth Plate is the fourth season of the cooking comedy anime Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma. It aired in 2019 with 12 episodes and was made by J.C.Staff. It is based on the manga by Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki. The story is set at Totsuki Culinary Academy, a very hard cooking school in Tokyo. Like earlier seasons, it has a lot of fan service when people taste food.
Soma Yukihira is a confident young chef who grew up cooking in his father's small diner. At Totsuki, students settle arguments through cooking battles called Shokugeki. The school is now run by Azami Nakiri, who wants to control what everyone cooks and shut down anyone who does not follow his rules.
This season picks up in the middle of a huge team battle. Soma, Erina Nakiri and a group of rebel students are fighting against the members of Central, Azami's side, which includes most of the Elite Ten. If the rebels lose, many of their friends will be expelled.
In the first episodes, the second round begins. The chefs must cook with set ingredients such as green tea, tuna and cayenne pepper. Rebel fighters like Kuga and Megishima take on powerful Elite Ten members. Each round has high stakes, and the rebels need every win they can get.
The season is full of creative dishes, big reactions and teamwork as the students fight for the future of their school.
