Synopsis
Gachiakuta is a 2025 dark fantasy action anime with 24 episodes. It was made by Bones Film and is based on the manga by Kei Urana. It is set in a world split between a floating city in the sky and a toxic wasteland below.
The rich people of the Sphere, the city in the sky, throw their trash down into the slums. The people in the slums are looked down on, because many of them come from families of criminals. They are called tribesfolk.
Rudo is a teenage boy who lives in the slums with his adoptive father, Regto. Rudo's real father was a criminal, and other people treat Rudo badly because of it. Rudo is angry at the world, but he loves Regto. He also collects things that other people have thrown away, because he hates how easily people waste things.
One day, Rudo finds Regto murdered. He is blamed for the crime and sentenced to be thrown into the Pit, a huge hole at the edge of the city. The Pit leads down to the surface, a wasteland full of trash and dangerous monsters made from garbage.
Rudo survives the fall. There, he meets Enjin, a member of the Cleaners, a group that fights the trash monsters. Enjin shows him that he is a Giver, someone who can turn old objects into powerful weapons. Rudo joins the Cleaners for now. The series follows him as he learns to fight and looks for a way back to the Sphere to get revenge.
