Synopsis
Dorohedoro is a 2020 dark fantasy action anime, and this first season has 12 episodes. It was made by MAPPA and is based on the manga by Q Hayashida. It has a lot of blood and violence, but also strange humor, so it is for adult viewers.
The story starts in the Hole, a dirty and dark city full of poor people. Sorcerers from another world come to the Hole through magic doors. They use humans to practice their magic, and they often leave victims with terrible changes to their bodies.
Caiman is one of those victims. A sorcerer's magic turned his head into the head of a lizard, and he cannot remember who he was before. He hunts sorcerers to find the one who did this to him. When he catches one, he puts their head inside his huge mouth. Something strange lives inside Caiman's mouth, and it tells him if this is the right sorcerer. So far, the answer is always no.
Caiman's best friend is Nikaido, a tough young woman who runs a small restaurant called the Hungry Bug. She makes great gyoza and helps Caiman in his fights.
In the sorcerers' world, a powerful boss named En hears that someone is killing his people. He sends his cleaners, Shin and Noi, to find the lizard man. The show is a wild mix of fights, mystery and dark comedy.
