Synopsis
Hellsing Ultimate is a horror action anime released as 10 long OVA episodes between 2006 and 2012. It was made by Satelight, Madhouse and Graphinica, and it follows the manga by Kohta Hirano closely. It is set in modern England. The show is extremely bloody and violent, so it is only for adult viewers.
The Hellsing Organization is a secret group that protects Britain from vampires and other monsters. It is led by Sir Integra Hellsing, a serious and strong-willed young woman. Her most powerful weapon is Alucard, a very old vampire who serves the Hellsing family. He hunts other vampires with huge custom guns and seems to enjoy every fight.
The story begins in a small village where a vampire priest has turned the people into ghouls. Seras Victoria is a young police officer sent there with her team. The mission goes badly wrong. Alucard arrives to deal with the vampire, and Seras is left close to death. Alucard gives her a choice, and from that night on, she is a vampire too. She joins Hellsing and slowly learns to live as one.
Soon, other enemies appear. Alexander Anderson is a deadly priest who hunts monsters for a secret group inside the Vatican. Hellsing and the Vatican share an enemy, but they hate each other. There are also signs that someone is making artificial vampires.
The show mixes gothic horror, gunfights and very dark humor.
