Synopsis
Fire Force is a 2019 supernatural action anime, and this first season has 24 episodes. It was made by David Production and is based on the manga by Atsushi Ohkubo, the creator of Soul Eater. It is set in the Tokyo Empire, a version of Tokyo in the far future.
In this world, people can burst into flames at any time with no warning. When this happens, they turn into Infernals, burning monsters that attack everything around them. Nobody knows why it happens. To deal with them, the city has the Special Fire Force. Its soldiers fight Infernals and put their souls to rest with a short prayer.
Some people are born with the power to control fire. Shinra Kusakabe is one of them. He can make fire shoot out of his feet, which lets him fly and kick with great force. When he is nervous, he makes a strange smile, so people call him a devil.
Twelve years ago, a fire killed Shinra's mother and baby brother. People blamed him for it. Now Shinra wants to become a hero and save people from the flames. He also wants to find out what really happened that day.
Shinra joins Special Fire Force Company 8. There he meets Captain Obi, the strong soldier Maki, the gentle nun Iris and Arthur, a rookie who thinks he is a knight. The season follows Shinra and Company 8 as they fight Infernals and look into the cause of the fires.
