Synopsis
Blue Exorcist is a 2011 dark fantasy action anime with 25 episodes. It was made by A-1 Pictures and is based on the manga by Kazue Kato. It is set in modern Japan, where demons secretly live alongside humans.
Rin Okumura is a teenage boy with a short temper who often gets into fights. He was raised in a church by Father Shiro Fujimoto, together with his twin brother, Yukio. Yukio is the opposite of Rin. He is calm, polite and a top student.
Rin has no idea that he is not fully human. He is actually a son of Satan, the ruler of the demon world. One day, demons start to appear around him, and his hidden power wakes up. Blue flames come out of his body, and Satan himself tries to pull Rin into the demon world. Father Fujimoto, who is a skilled exorcist, tries to protect him.
After a painful loss, Rin makes a big decision. He will become an exorcist, a person who fights demons, and one day he will defeat Satan. He carries a sword called the Kurikara, which keeps his demon power sealed.
Rin joins the secret exorcist school at True Cross Academy. There he finds that Yukio is not what he seemed either. Rin must hide who he really is from his new classmates. The series follows Rin as he trains to fight demons while keeping his secret.
