Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga

Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga is the second season of the dark fantasy action anime Blue Exorcist. It aired in 2017 with 12 episodes and was made by A-1 Pictures. It is based on the manga by Kazue Kato. This season follows the manga story and skips the second half of the first season, which was not from the manga.

Rin Okumura is a hot-headed teenager who is the son of Satan. He has blue flames that can burn demons. He wants to become an exorcist and defeat Satan himself. He trains at True Cross Academy with his twin brother, Yukio, who is already a skilled exorcist.

At the start of this season, Rin's classmates have just learned who his father is. Many of them are now afraid of him. Ryuji Suguro, known as Bon, is angry and feels lied to. Konekomaru is too scared to be near him. Rin's position is also shaky. If he cannot learn to control his flames, the Order of the True Cross may put him to death.

Then a powerful object called the Left Eye of the Impure King is stolen from the academy. Someone is also going after the Right Eye, which is kept in Kyoto. The students are sent to Kyoto, which is also home to Bon's family and his old temple.

The season mixes demon battles with drama about trust, friendship and family.
