Synopsis
The Devil is a Part-Timer! is a 2013 fantasy comedy anime with 13 episodes. It was made by the studio White Fox and is based on the light novels by Satoshi Wagahara. The story starts in a fantasy world, but most of it takes place in modern Tokyo.
In the land of Ente Isla, the Demon King Satan leads a huge army of demons. Then the Hero Emilia and her allies fight back and push his forces to the edge of defeat. To escape, Satan and his loyal general Alciel flee through a magic gate.
They come out in a back street in Tokyo. On Earth, there is almost no magic, so they lose most of their powers and look like normal humans. With no money and no home, Satan takes the name Sadao Maou and gets a part time job at MgRonald, a fast food restaurant. Alciel becomes Shirou Ashiya and runs their small apartment.
Maou turns out to be a very hard worker, and he wants to become a full time manager. His coworker Chiho Sasaki soon develops a crush on him.
But the Hero has followed them to Earth. Emilia now lives as Emi Yusa and works at a phone call center. She wants to defeat Maou once and for all, but she finds it hard to fight a demon king who is so serious about fast food. The series follows their odd daily life in Tokyo, while other enemies from Ente Isla begin to appear.
