Synopsis
Noragami is a 2014 action fantasy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by the studio Bones and is based on the manga by Adachitoka. It is set in modern Tokyo, where gods, spirits and humans live side by side, though most people cannot see the spirit world.
Yato is a minor god with no shrine and no followers. He wears a tracksuit and dreams of having millions of believers. To get there, he does odd jobs for anyone who calls him. His price is only five yen. He writes his phone number on walls around the city, and he will do almost anything, from finding lost cats to cleaning bathrooms.
Hiyori Iki is a normal high school girl. One day, she sees Yato about to be hit by a bus, and she jumps in to save him. She is the one who gets hit instead. After the accident, her soul starts to slip out of her body at random times. When this happens, she can see the other side of the world, where dangerous spirits called phantoms live.
Hiyori wants Yato to fix her problem, so she hires him. To fight phantoms, Yato needs a Regalia, a spirit that can turn into a weapon. Soon he finds a new one, a boy he names Yukine.
The series follows Yato, Hiyori and Yukine as they take on jobs, fight phantoms and learn more about each other.
