Synopsis
Kamisama Kiss is a 2012 romantic comedy anime, and this first season has 13 episodes. It was made by TMS Entertainment and is based on the manga by Julietta Suzuki. It is set in modern Japan, and it mixes everyday life with Japanese gods and spirits called yokai.

Nanami Momozono is a high school girl with a lot of bad luck. Her father has run away to escape his gambling debts, and she is kicked out of her home. Now she has nowhere to live.

In a park, Nanami meets a strange man stuck up a tree because he is afraid of a dog. She helps him down. To thank her, he offers her his home. Then he kisses her on the forehead and leaves. When Nanami arrives at the address, she finds an old, run-down shrine. She learns that the man was Mikage, the local land god, and that his kiss has made her the new god of the shrine.

The shrine comes with a familiar, a handsome fox yokai named Tomoe. Tomoe was Mikage's loyal servant, but he refuses to serve a weak human girl. To make him her familiar, Nanami must form a contract with him, and the way to do that is with a kiss.

Nanami starts learning how to be a real god, while dealing with school, spirits and her growing feelings for Tomoe. The show is a light, sweet romance with plenty of comedy.
