Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends is a 2011 romantic comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by AIC Build and is based on the light novel series by Yomi Hirasaka. It is set at St. Chronica's Academy, a Christian high school in Japan. The show has a lot of fan service, so it is best for older teens and adults.

Kodaka Hasegawa has just moved to a new school. He has blond hair because his mother was English, and his face looks a little scary. Because of this, everyone thinks he is a delinquent, and no one wants to talk to him.

One day after school, Kodaka finds his classmate Yozora Mikazuki talking to someone who is not there. She says it is her imaginary friend. The two of them realize that they have no real friends at all. Yozora decides to start a new school club called the Neighbors Club. Its goal is to help its members learn how to make friends.

Soon, other lonely students join. Sena Kashiwazaki is rich and beautiful, but the other girls hate her. Rika Shiguma is a genius inventor with a strange mind. Yukimura Kusunoki is a small and polite first-year who wants to be more manly. Kodaka's little sister, Kobato, also shows up often.

The club members argue, play games and go on outings together. The show is a comedy about lonely people who are not very good at being friends.
