HINAMATSURI is a 2018 comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by the studio feel. and is based on the manga by Masao Ohtake. It is set in modern Tokyo. The show has a very dry sense of humor, with some surprisingly touching moments.
Yoshifumi Nitta is a young member of a yakuza gang. He is doing well in his job, and he lives alone in a nice apartment where he collects expensive vases. His life is calm and stylish.
One night, a strange metal capsule falls out of the sky and lands on his head. Inside is a girl named Hina. She has a blank face, she barely talks and she has very strong psychic powers. She can move and break things with her mind. Hina makes it clear that she will stay with him, and Nitta has no choice. If he says no, she might destroy his home.
Soon, Nitta is taking care of Hina like a father. He feeds her, sends her to school and tries to stop her from using her powers in public. Hina is lazy and eats a lot, and she often causes trouble.
The show also follows other characters, such as Anzu, another psychic girl who arrives to find Hina, and Hitomi, Hina's classmate who is too good at everything she tries. Each of them ends up in a very strange situation. The show is a comedy about unexpected families and people who get pulled into odd lives.
