Synopsis
Mob Psycho 100 is a 2016 action comedy anime with supernatural elements. This first season has 12 episodes. It was made by the studio Bones and is based on the web manga by ONE, the author of One-Punch Man.
Shigeo Kageyama is a middle school boy that everyone calls Mob. He looks plain, and he does not stand out at school. He is not good at sports or talking to people. But Mob has very strong psychic powers. He can bend spoons, move objects with his mind and fight evil spirits.
Mob tries hard not to use his powers in daily life. He also keeps his feelings under control. When his emotions build up and reach 100 percent, his power can explode in dangerous ways.
After school, Mob works for Arataka Reigen, a man who says he is a great psychic. Reigen has no powers at all. He is a fake who lets Mob do all the real work for very little money. Still, Mob trusts him and sees him as a teacher.
Mob wants to be a normal kid. He wants to become more popular, and he likes a girl named Tsubomi. To change himself, he joins the Body Improvement Club at school. The members are kind, and they train hard to build muscle.
The season follows Mob as he deals with spirits, strange groups and other psychics, while he tries to grow as a person.
