Synopsis
Nisemonogatari is a 2012 supernatural anime with 11 episodes. It was made by the studio Shaft and is based on the light novels by NisiOisiN. It is part of the Monogatari series and follows Bakemonogatari. It has a lot of talking, strange camera work and many suggestive scenes, so it is for older viewers.
The story is set in a small Japanese town during summer vacation. Koyomi Araragi is a high school student who was once turned into a vampire. He is mostly human again, but he still heals very fast. In the past, he met several girls who were troubled by oddities, which are strange spirits or curses. Now he spends time with them again.
This season focuses on Koyomi's two younger sisters, Karen and Tsukihi. The two girls call themselves the Fire Sisters. They act like heroes of justice and try to solve problems at the local middle schools.
In the first part, Karen finds out that someone is selling fake curses and charms to middle school students. She wants to stop the person behind it, a strange con man named Deishu Kaiki. Koyomi warns her that it is too dangerous, but Karen does not listen. Soon, Koyomi is pulled into the problem too.
Later, the story turns to Tsukihi, the younger sister. The show mixes long, clever conversations with comedy and some action. It is about family and about what is real and what is fake.
