Synopsis
SK8 the Infinity is a 2021 sports anime about skateboarding with 12 episodes. It is an original story made by the studio Bones. It is set in Okinawa, Japan.
Reki Kyan is a second year high school student who loves skateboarding more than anything. He works at a skate shop and builds his own boards. At night, he goes to "S", a secret skateboarding race held in an old mine. There are no rules in S. Skaters race each other down a dangerous course, and the crowd bets on who will win.
One day, a new transfer student named Langa Hasegawa arrives at Reki's school. Langa grew up in Canada and has never ridden a skateboard. But he is an expert snowboarder. Langa needs money, so he starts working at the skate shop with Reki.
Reki teaches Langa how to skate, and Langa learns very fast. His snowboarding skills let him ride in a strange and exciting new way. He soon enters his first race at S, where he faces a tough skater named Shadow.
S has many colorful skaters, like the calm Cherry Blossom and the strong Joe. Above them all is Adam, the mysterious founder of S, who is known as the best skater in Okinawa. Adam takes a strong interest in Langa. The series follows Reki and Langa as they race, grow as skaters and test their friendship.
