Synopsis
takt op.Destiny is a 2021 action fantasy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by MAPPA and Madhouse, and it is based on a mobile game by Bandai Namco and DeNA. It is set in the United States in the year 2047, at a time when music has become dangerous.
Years ago, a black meteorite fell from the sky. After that, monsters called D2 began to appear. The D2 are drawn to music, and they attack any place where music is played. Because of this, music is now almost banned in daily life.
The only ones who can fight the D2 are Musicarts, young women who carry the power of famous classical music pieces. Each Musicart fights together with a Conductor, a person who guides her power.
Takt Asahina is a young man who loves music more than anything. He plays piano even when it is not safe. His friend Cosette is a gentle girl who works with her older sister, Anna. One night, a D2 attack goes very wrong. Cosette is badly hurt, and she wakes up as a Musicart named Destiny, with Takt as her Conductor.
Destiny is wild and always hungry, and she seems to remember very little about who she was. Takt, Destiny and Anna set out on a long road trip across America to New York. On the way, they fight D2, meet other Musicarts and face people who want to use Destiny's power.
