Then a strange man lands on Earth in a round spaceship. His name is Raditz, and he is very powerful. He tracks down Goku and tells him a shocking truth. Goku is not human. He belongs to a race of alien warriors called Saiyans. He was sent to Earth as a baby to take over the planet, but he hit his head and forgot his mission. Raditz also says that he is Goku's older brother.

Raditz wants Goku to join him and help conquer other worlds. When Goku refuses, Raditz takes Gohan. To save his son, Goku must team up with his old enemy Piccolo.

Soon, Goku and his friends learn that two more Saiyans, who are even stronger than Raditz, are coming to Earth. They want the Dragon Balls, magic orbs that can grant any wish. The series follows Goku, Gohan and their friends as they train hard and fight to protect the Earth from new enemies.
