Synopsis
Naruto is a ninja action anime that first aired in 2002. It was made by Studio Pierrot and is based on the manga by Masashi Kishimoto. The series runs for 220 episodes and is set in a fantasy world of ninja villages.
Naruto Uzumaki is a loud and cheeky young boy from the Hidden Leaf Village. He has no family, and most adults in the village treat him coldly. They avoid him and do not explain why. Naruto plays pranks all the time to get attention, and he is the worst student at the ninja academy.
Twelve years before the story starts, a huge beast called the Nine-Tailed Fox attacked the village. The village leader, called the Hokage, gave his life to stop it. The fox was sealed inside a newborn baby. That baby was Naruto.
Naruto has a big dream. He wants to become Hokage himself, so that the whole village will finally respect him. After he graduates from the academy, he is put on a team with two other young ninja. Sasuke Uchiha is a quiet top student that everyone admires. Sakura Haruno is a smart girl who has a crush on Sasuke. Their teacher is Kakashi Hatake, an elite ninja who is hard to read.
Naruto and Sasuke do not get along, and the team must learn to work together. The show follows them as they train and go on their first missions.
