Naruto: Shippuden

Naruto: Shippuden is the 2007 sequel to the Naruto anime. It was made by Studio Pierrot and is based on the manga by Masashi Kishimoto. The series runs for 500 episodes and follows the second part of the manga.

The story starts two and a half years after the end of the first series. Naruto Uzumaki comes home to the Hidden Leaf Village after a long time away. He has been training with Jiraiya, one of the strongest ninja in the village. Naruto is now older and much stronger, but he still dreams of becoming Hokage, the leader of the village.

His friends have grown up too. Sakura Haruno trained under Lady Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, and is now a skilled medical ninja. Many of their old classmates have moved up in rank. But their friend Sasuke Uchiha is still gone. He left the village to seek power, and Naruto made a promise to bring him back.

Naruto and Sakura team up again with their old teacher, Kakashi Hatake. He tests them to see how much they have improved.

At the same time, a secret group of rogue ninja called the Akatsuki is starting to move. They are hunting people who carry powerful beasts sealed inside them, and Naruto is one of them. Their first target is Naruto's friend Gaara, the young leader of the Hidden Sand Village. The series follows Naruto as he fights to protect his friends and find Sasuke.
