Synopsis
Eromanga Sensei is a 2017 romantic comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by A-1 Pictures and is based on the light novel series by Tsukasa Fushimi. It is set in modern Tokyo and is about the world of light novel writers and artists. The show has a lot of fan service, so it is best for older viewers.
Masamune Izumi is a high school student who is also a published light novel author. He lives with his younger stepsister, Sagiri. Their parents married, but a short time later, the two of them were left on their own. Since then, Sagiri has shut herself away in her room for a whole year. She will not come out or talk to him. Masamune cooks for her and leaves meals at her door, but he does not know how to reach her.
Masamune's books are drawn by an illustrator known online as Eromanga Sensei. He has never met this artist in person. One night, while watching Eromanga Sensei's live stream, he learns something surprising. The artist he has worked with for years is living in his own house.
This discovery gives Masamune a new goal. He wants to write a great story that Sagiri can draw, and to slowly bring her out of her room. Along the way, he meets other writers, such as Elf Yamada, a proud and famous author who moves in next door.
The show mixes comedy about writing with a story about family and chasing your dreams.
